Peter Bauert takes Parallels to Marketing Successes
One of the more recognized and influential technocrat in the IT industry, Peter Bauert has taken the position of CFO and COO at Parallels, Inc., a leading provider of virtualization and automation solutions that is now aggressively pursuing wider global markets. The company has recently introduced a control panel application for the emerging IPv6, it’s Plesk Desk 10.2 and has expanded is marketing presence in the European and Southeast Asian markets. Apart from having saved millions of dollars when he assumed his office, he has entered into lucrative deals with various IT giants like Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Intel, HP and Dell, to mention a few of the major ones.
Previous to joining Parallels, Peter Bauert served as EVP for Strategy and Operations at the Norwegian IT firm FAST (Fast Search and Transfer, Inc.) involved in developing and marketing search technologies typically used in search engines. That was from 2002 to 2007. Prior to this, he also served a CFO at SalesDriver (2000 – 2002), VP for Corporate Development for Cybergold (1997 – 2000), Consultant for Bain & Co.(1996 – 1997) and his first job as Development Manger at Siemens Stromberg Carlson ( 1989 – 1994).
Peter Bauert launched his IT career after a most impressive academic sojourn. He received his BS in Computer Science from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona in 1988, and then proceeded to get his Masters degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Central Florida in 1990. In 1996, after working with Siemens Stromberg, he got his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at the Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
